I am 15 and i am looking for a new hairdresser. I currently have a girl hairdresser and go to salon eclipse. She is nice but i do not like the way she cuts my hair. Whenever i ask for a trim or a couple inches off she always cuts off way more. For example. My last haircut i asked for an inch trim and she ended up chooping off four. I dyed my hair for the first time at Aveda about 2 shades lighter. I really love the color but my hair feels dryer than usual. Try adding more warmth bu placing a heating pad under the cage. Someone else suggested a heat lamp from the pet store which would also work. Just be sure it doesn't get too hot and make sure the bird can get out of the direct heat if it chooses. You will prob never know how/why your bird developed pneumonia, if you can't trace it back to another animal. Bacteria & fungus circulating in the air we all breath can lead to this illness in a susceptible bird. Don't blame yourself. You did the right thing by getting your pet to the vet for treatment. Hope she makes a full recovery, seems like she's getting good support fr you..

Hi, I'm currently and Aveda student in Florida and I think the school is great! I started in August of this year and I am happy with it so far. I do believe it is worth it. I had to pay around 18,000 which seems like a lot, I know, but if this is really something you want to pursue then this is deffinately the school to go to. You just need to have a copy of your high school diploma or G.E.D. They do not ask for transcripts or S.A.T. scores. The Aveda program is 13 months long but worth it in the end when you graduate. Every salon owner or stylist that I know understands the extensive Aveda program and are glad to accept Aveda graduates into their salons. Aveda really prepares you for a job in a salon right after you graduate. I really hope that this helps, let me know if this is what you decide to do. There’s absolutely no room in the high schools to add to the population. But of course the school board believes they have come up with these brilliant ideas to get beyond this problem. The district could throw away money, to add more portables or remodel the buildings that have stood for years to accommodate the additional students. Or, an extended school day. If extended school days were to take place, not only would there be one long day at school, but two shifts, 7:00 am- 2:00 pm and 10:00 am- 5:00 pm. At one point through the day, from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, every student would attend at the same time. And the last option for this outrageous plan would be evening academies. Where it would be a normal school day, plus evening academies, meaning students would meet at RHS from 3:00 pm- 7:00 pm, and would have a particular focus for that time, perhaps online school. All these are possible solutions, but I don’t see the problem. So why take the risk of changing the whole district, when there are no facts proving this would better student’s performance in our community, when it could be left the same. As of now, until there are any legitimate facts stating any of these options would be better than the regular, k-6, 7-9, and 10-12th grade schooling, leaving the Puyallup school District the way it is now is the best option for everyone.

I plan on going to Aveda Institute to get my cosmetology license because apparently all the other top cosmetology schools only teach you the basics. So my plan is after I'm done, I plan on continuing my education in the advanced courses Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy offers. Is this a good idea? Is it worth going to all 3 of those schools to get advanced education? I think it would look awesome on my resume? It's also cheaper than spending 20k at one school just to learn the basic training, instead I can spend 12k at Aveda and then use the other 8k at the other 3 schools. Does this sound good?

this is kinda old- but type in Tamilee Webb. she has good vhs's (has some new dvds). i recommend her 15 min work outs. they are good for when you dont have a lot of time. she has leg ones and ab ones. and in the beginning of the workout, she does a little bit a cardio, and at the end, she saves a few minutes for stretching. very good. also, try some dancing dvd's, they are very fun. zumba is supposed to be very good (they have that for the wii). i know you said no celebs, but i heard jillian michaels has some veryyyy good and intense dvd's. kim kardashian has a cardio dvd that works on using a step. i personally like the dancingg ones. hope that helps

dude i deal with this same stuff, only I have a little more on my plate. but for real, like you cant love any one else until you love yourself, so until you gain some self-confidance, it'll be really hard to make friends. Try not to isolate so much. I know this can be hard because even when you are in a group you can feel alone, but just try to put yourself out there, and if rejection is what you're scared about, just take it for what it is and know it wasnt meant to happen. Like I would see about getting a therapist. I have one and she helps me trough alot of things, just seeing her puts me in a better mood. If you dont want to ask your parents, just talk to the one at school, they're there to help. I myself and trying to figure out my purpose for being here and I haven't found it yet, but I know I'm supposed to do something, otherwise I would've died when I overdosed back in october. Just wait it out and try talking to someone, have an open mind. Anything you try that's good for other fish will not be in vain,hopefully he's not sick, That sideways thing, might mean sick, I've experienced that with my fish, get some Ick medicine, it can't hurt, it's only a couple bucks, try warmer water maybe, if it's below 70, but just a gradual heat up, like a degree or 2 a day, put a thermometer in it, like I always use the floating ones, also only a couple bucks, give him areas to hide in like you would use in a regular aquarium, Betta's like to go inside logs, rocks, broken sunken ships, etc. too. Could be too that he just likes those spots, but the floating up like a balloon thing doesn't sound good, Is he just floating around with nowhere to climb into? Even some of that plastic greenery floating around, My Betta was in a 3 gallon big bowl, I spoiled him rotten, you might be cleaning his water too often also maybe, I only cleaned mine once a month, check a fish store or book or internet and see if they need the same nitrate levels and whatever other levels in the tank that are important, maybe their important for betta's too, I just know my Betta thrived with only 1X a month cleanings. maybe even try a tiny pellet food like I used, they float and if he didn't eat within the hour, I took it out with an old plastic spoon, used just for him. Mine had a mirror too, to think he had a neighbor, he would flare out his fins cuz he thought another male was in there with him, so maybe they need a little adrenalin rush once in a while, hey! Just a few or moe things, you can try, maybe even a girlfriend, the girls are blah looking, males have the prettiest flaring fins and brighter colors. Good Luck! okay so in the morning i take a shower and then i make it poofy by blow drying and brushing it, there is hardly any dandruff and it's only been happening for the past 3 days, i've been using a shampoo that I got & no conditioner. in the morning and afternoon my head does not itch like this, now it's freaking itching so bad and then white flakes come out ... it's so itchy though like i cannot stop itching it and i have this urge to just itch it so hard, but i'm just patting incase i ruin my head or something :( please help

Well when we got up this morning and once my son was off to school we just hung out all day not doing anything special but just having lots of cups of tea, making a nice big brunch together, watching tv cuddled on the couch, looking at stuff on the computer and helping each other with stuff and just generally having a laugh. But the thing is it was absolutely brilliant just spending the time together like that. We don't live together obviously. We both parted late afternoon when the schools finished as i went to get my son and he went for his visitation with his daughter. Do you guys think he enjoyed that time just as much as I did? We are not kids, im 32 and he is 41. (As i've wrote this he has sent me a couple of texts telling me how much he enjoyed last night and today). Just because its not foaming doesn't mean its not cleansing. Part your hair in section and was one section at a time. Also you can use conditioner as you can shampoo to get out dirt that may still be there. It takes practice to find a method that works.

I am 15 and i am looking for a new hairdresser. I currently have a girl hairdresser and go to salon eclipse. She is nice but i do not like the way she cuts my hair. Help! My betta fish just died!!?

He had fin rot and I gave him tetracycline but after 5 days of no improvement, i discontinued. I was going to give him kanacyn so mpletely cleaned his 1 gallon tank. After putting the water conditioner in, i waited 30 minutes. Then I took him in his little cup and put him back in his tank. As soon as i put him in, he started darting around ballisticly and jumping and banging against the tank glass and gravel. Then he died! :( How did he die?? After that, I put aveda's Glossing Straightener in my hair from roots to tips distributing the product evenly with a comb... Then I blow dry my hair straight with a straightening pick that attaches to my hair dryer... After my hair is blow dried, I apply Tresseme's Heat Tamer spray throughout my hair and straighten my hair with my Helen of Troy ceramic straightener... Then I'm done, and my hair immediately starts to get curly mostly near the ends and underneath right when I step foot outside... Please help me solve this desperate problem!!! Will my hair color fade?

I have natural black hair. I dyed it for the first time a few days ago at Aveda to a medium brown (permanent). Everything came out fine except for my roots, for some reason those came out orange/red, like a ginger. I myself have very dry skin,when i don't have any creams or can't get out to buy them,i find margarine/butter very helpful. it soothes the skin and soaks in straight away so your skin isn't left feeling sticky or anything. Soap will irritate your skin and make it a lot worse,as will orange juice and peanut butter! Hope this helps! :)

Just use ur reg.shampoo and cond. Go to sallys beauty supply and get (proclaim,glossing polish)it lasts forever and u don't need a lot! It adds moisture and shine and doesn't weigh ur hair down! Your hair will feel like silk,protected from the heat too! Good luck!

Recommended Breast Pumps?

You want a nice quality pump, Medela and Avent are both good and I can use my Medela without pain. It shouldn't be painful, pain means you may be damaging your nipple. Medela also has many "flute" sizes to get a comfortable fit. If you will be pumping for awhile then the couple hundred dollars is a good investment, Medela also makes manual pumps that are quite a bit less expensive. Do not get a brand that makes lots of other products like Evenflo, (Avent is the exception), generally speaking you should be planning to pay at least a hundred or more for a double electric pump, stay way from ones that seem too good to be true (like a double electric with carry bag, bottles, etc for only $30.00).

My partner has been working for the same company since he left school ten years ago. He is brilliant at his job,unfortunately because of recession,the work available to his company has dried up and in the past year and a half they reduced their workforce from 30 builders to 8. He and the other 7 were recently told there would be yet another few laid off this coming week,and as usual were given a review of their work,which is given as a points system and those with the lowest points are first out the door. Now my problem is the fact that my partner is one of those who always has highest points,and unfortunately last weekend he broke three bones in his foot. He was told not to walk on it,to be off work for a couple weeks,and to rest. He was in a lot of pain but decided to go to work after TWO days off unpaid.(also after bein assured it wouldnt affect the points he was given). He received his points two days ago and we were gutted to find that he is now in the lowest category concerning points and looks likely he could be made redundant by friday. They took FOUR points off him because of they two days off. It is SO unfair as the people above him only have half a point more and because of his foot,he will probably b without a job. Does he stand anywhere with them taking points off him therefore making him redundant becausde of his broken foot?

Why would a person make A's in Calculus 1A, and then have trouble passing 1B?

Math is not my good point, so I can't help this person. My son had one teacher for Calculus 1A and then a different teacher for Calculus 1B. He can't stand the current teacher, and from what he tells me, the rest of the class is having trouble with the subject and the teacher's attitude. He says no one questions the teacher's ways because it's a prestigious college in California, and this teacher is supposedly some brilliant math professor. We're spending a fortune on the tuition, and my son now feels like a failure though he claims he is studying harder than he did in 1A. This teacher says that he will fail the entire class if he has to in order to make believers of them, in that they have to work harder. Does anyone have suggestions?

What should I do with my new female Akita?

I live in a warm country. I have a 9 year old Akita that will be outside during the day, but at night come to sleep in my room with air conditioner. Now that I have this new female Akita dog, I want to put them both in my room to sleep at night. It turns my mother cannot think about the f'ing idea. We have a pomeranian that is laid back and a chihuahua (my sister's) that roams around the house. They got along with the female Akita, the male Akita does not like the chihuahua. My sister, who is not responsible with the chihuahua, let him does what he pleases. Nevertheless, my mother is actually asking me to take the dog back because she is afraid of the chihuahua. I told her that instead of giving me a speech, she should give a speech to my sister to take care of her chihuahua. She tells me she will not do it, and that if I want the other Akita I will have to keep them both outside. Outside is hot, and they are breathing through the mouth constantly. I do not know what to do. Should I give the female Akita back so that 9 year old Akita can sleep inside the house with air conditioner? Should I keep them both and leave them outside? Help!

It's ok but it is also very healthy for your hair because it strengthens it. It doesn't really smell like raspberry though just regular shampoo. I think if your trying to stay with best quality products theres no need to go down a notch. Although don't get me wrong it's a nice shampoo I just think you could do better lol. I like it though and would probably buy it again after I'm done with the one I got because it's nice. Hope I helped!

You're fine and so is your baby. I can't figure out why, but for some reason doctors like to make women panic by every other week announcing that some other innocuous thing is going to turn our babies into spider monkeys. "Oh god you dyed your hair!/wore flip flops/touched aluminum foil, your baby's going to have 8 toes and a crazy eye!!" Yeah...not so much. I dye my hair every 6 weeks for the last decade and have 2 perfect children and another due in sept. Don't worry, you're totally fine as long as you do it in a well ventilated area. Good luck

Tips on making my hair look nicer?

Okay well I am great at mixing things to find something that works for almost everything, but my hair is a completely different story. I have thick hair and I am currently using Aveda shampoo and straightening stuff, my hair is soft and doesn't look greasy or anything, but I have no clue how to get rid of those hairs that frizz up randomly at the top of my head! If Proactiv works on a person, that's great. But that person is now dependent on that product. The results will show if you keep using it...stop using it and the skin problem returns. Our body is telling us that there may be something wrong inside, so take the sign of having pimples as your body's way of communicating with you.

Is there a similar conditioner to the stuff that comes with at-home hair dye products?

The best my hair has ever looked is after dying my hair with an at-home kit and then using the little package of conditioner that comes with it. My hair only looks that good with that stuff. I don't dye my hair very often, and obviously I don't want to buy boxes of hair dye to get great conditioner. Does anybody have a recommendation to a similar product that is mass marketed as a conditioner on its own? Would prefer a full bottle of something with a similar composition so my hair can be all awesome again. I *have* tried a range of drugstore and beauty shop products; just haven't found anything out there that works so well yet. Would appreciate any recommendations anyone out there has. Thanks!

Why am i angry at this friend (not to her face)?

This doesn't sound like the kind of person you'd like to hang out with... so stop hanging out with her. Your reasons for anger are valid, just give yourself some space and avoid her. If she does something that annoys you just calmly explain what she did, why it bothers you and go on with life. If she gets offended, that's her problem, if she changes, good for you! As for why all of these emotions are coming out all of a sudden... well you've probably been feeling them moderately, but now everything is coming out full force. Irks and irritations add up into a big fury... which would be what you're feeling right now. You'll get over it pretty quick, but as soon as you're out of her company the ire will return. I had a friend like that, and we hung out for a long time, and she beat me down. Now I just don't hang out as often, if at all and I have better friends. Life works out better that way.
