Anyones hair ever been ruined by conditioner or shampoo?

it seems to me that most popular brands ruin hair. i used pert plus and it really dried out my hair. that's odd though that conditioner would make your hair frizzy, normally it would cause it to be oily or flattened down. i started using a brand called organix and it works wonders. it's a little more on the expensive side but it's totally worth it for good hair. xx
